The ancients march again...

So haven't posted in a while but finally got something completed. I picked this little gem of a classic model back at adepticon and finally got around to painting. It was quite fun to paint. The abundance of purity seals and archways coupled with the trim and wings on the front give the model a regal appearance. It looks more like royalty rather then a veteran warrior. I'm excited to get all of them on table and still not be run in an unbound list. Scoring dreadnoughts FTW!!!

The first game of 7th! Not too shabby.

I have been feeling a bit defiant about picking up the new 7th edition book, but luckily my good friend and fellow Lonely Havoc, Slender picked up the book today and had time to stop by for a game... the new changes range from subtle to game changing... overall not bad!

Warhammer 40K: New Psychic Chart And Perils Charts Revealed!

The new chart was leaked today.

Space Marines have access to everything again, which is great.

Orks are missing alot, but supposedly they are getting their own powers soon.

Major burning question is what are the Force Powers?

And Eldar can summon Daemons now? Fluff wise I think this is a great idea.

Perils of the Warp
1. Dragged into the Warp: Psyker takes a leadership test, if passed suffers 1 wound or glancing hit no saves.if failed he is removed as a casualty and his unit takes d6 S6 AP1 hits. The hits come from the psyker for allocation

2. Mental Purge: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. randomly select one power from the psyker. its lost for the rest of the game.

3. Power Drain: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. if its the psychic phase, both players lose d3 warp charge points

4. Psychic Backlash: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves.

5. Empyric Feedback: Psyker takes a leadership test. if failed Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. If passed no effect.

6. Warp Surge Psyker takes a leadership test. if failed Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. If passed psyker gains a 3+ invul, fleshbane, armour bane, and smash until the next friendly psychic phase.

Riptide/Wave Serpent Finished for DieCon

DieCon and the Gateway Grand Tournament is coming up quick, (June 20-22) and I realized that my army needs to be fully painted if I want to be able to take the top prize. While a fully painted army isn't required to play in the event, it is if you want to win overall champ. So this past weekend, I started the big push to get everything I need painted up. Here are the first 2 fruits of my labor.  One of two Riptides and one of two Wave Serpents. I was pretty stoked about how they turned out.

Shadow Captain Korvydae completed.... FINALLY!

Hey all, The Law here with a WIP update. I just finished the newest addition to my growing Raven Guard army. Shadow Captain Korvydae. Now for those of you who may not know of him here's a brief run down. He's a Forgeworld Model from one of the Imperial Armor books. The cool thing about him is the two special rules he gives your army. He grants the Hit and Run special rule to his unit and even more importantly he makes Assault Marines Troop choices. The caveat being that any army with him as the warlord must take one Scout unit (He is the Master of Recruits after all). Now I've included some pictures of the completed model. One thing you might notice is that the base on my model is different than the one he comes with. I decided to make him a little more dynamic and have him leaping off the edge of a small little cliff. My vanguard veterans will have similar bases when I get done with them. I also went with a slightly different color scheme than the model on Forgeworld. I just don't like the idea of the white jetpack so I kept it black. Anyways here's the pictures!

The Sky's Not Falling, That's Just Rain.

Hello fellow war-gamers and hobbyists!
In case you haven't heard by now (for the expanses of the Imperium are vast, and the rest of the galaxy has enough dark places to lose oneself), something new is headed our way, in the form of a rules change!

Call it what you will, a new edition, an update, a 'service pack' even; it's a change just like any other.  Change is constant, and generally the 'good' or 'bad' aspect is a matter of your point of view, in my humble opinion. This 6.5/7th edition is no different. Bear with me while I lay out my thoughts on the subject.

More commission Tempestus!

Have one squad just about done!  I think they are looking pretty sweet.

Massive Changes Coming to 40k 7th Edition!

Looks like there's some pretty massive changes in store for us 40k players. Follow the link for pics of some of the new changes. I for one am looking very forward to trying an army that uses no force org chart. Oh, the havoc I shall wreak with mass amounts of monstrous creatures. It's going to be glorious.
